Achieve A Bright Future for Students via These 3 Tagum City Schools
With face-to-face classes in full swing after two years of being forced to learn via distance learning, students could again learn in physical classrooms alongside their friends, classmates, and teachers who will be instrumental to their individual intellectual growth. Below, we listed down three schools in Tagum City from elementary to college.
La Filipina Elementary School
After the preparatory kindergarten, the next significant step is elementary education from Grades one to six. La Filipina Elementary School is the go-to educational institution for elementary students in the City of Tagum. Through its Facebook page, the Tagum elementary school features recent activities conducted in line with the National Reading Month, held every November nationwide.
The latest one is called "Book Character Parade," a program for school pupils to present their favorite characters in any fictional stories and don an exquisite costume of their chosen character. The program was held at the school gymnasium, where pupils with the best costumes were awarded. Last October, meanwhile, the school published a story featuring its pupils doing community service through a collaborative clean-up drive and forest tour at Canocotan Bypass Road, in Hijo Farm and the coastal area on October 29.
After the release of passers in the mentally grueling licensure exam for aspiring public accountants, the school also featured through its Facebook an alumna of the school, Alvielle Izza Catcha, who achieved the 4th spot among the top-notchers in the said licensure examination for certified public accountants.
La Filipina National High School (LFNHS)
After fulfilling elementary education, La Filipina National High school is inarguably one of the top academic high school institutions in the City of Tagum for learners to advance and further their academic aspirations. The institution offers services for junior and senior high school aspirants and has nearly 5,000 learners as of School Year 2022-2023, with over 170 competent high school teachers.
Just recently, the school bagged an international award for its project SALIDA LA FILIPINA, a media-based program of LFNHS that produces localized media-related supplementary materials, anchored with the objective of delivering quality learning materials for local and and national students to make the twin art of teaching and learning fun and engaging for both learners and instructors.
The project was conceived during the height of the COVID-19 crisis, when learners had to make do with Modular Distance Learning (MDL), where they answered modular questions at home. The school acknowledged the fact that while the learning setup is still a great alternative while the pandemic is still wreaking havoc, limited teachers' supervision challenged the learners. This is when the school was inspired to create the Salida La Filipina program.
Facilitated by the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEANEO) - Japan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), LFNHS' SALIDA LA FILIPINA was adjudged champion among 278 participating schools in 8 Southeast Asian countries. The international competition had the theme, "Education Transformation through Partnership."
