K-Lite 103.5 FM to Amp Up Your OG Funk Experience
13 October 2022Radio station K-lite 103.5 FM, owned by business magnate and former senator Manny Villar's Advanced Media Broadcasting System, Inc. (AMBS), went live from its new studio on the second floor of Starmall Shaw Blvd. in Mandaluyong City.
To better serve its listeners, Advanced Media Broadcasting System, Inc. (AMBS) launches its flagship radio station, K-lite 103.5 FM, from its new studio on Level 2 of Starmall Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. Since 1995, listeners have been able to tune in to K-lite, a popular FM radio station playing a wide variety of current tunes with a strong rhythmic element.
AMBS K-Lite Radio Station
This radio station in the Philippines plays adult contemporary music. It is owned and operated by Advanced Media Broadcasting System, Inc. The studio and transmitter are at Unit 906A of the Paragon Plaza Building, which is on the junction of EDSA and Reliance Street in Mandaluyong City.

Favorite radio stations studios transformation over the years
The station first went under the name 103.5 K light FM on October 23, 1995, and had that name until November 30, 2006; from January 1, 2007, to June 19, 2007, it was known as Heart 103.5.
In November of 2006, the K-Lite management made the decision to revamp the station's programming and organization. New on-air personalities and a more chill format debuted on January 1, 2007, when the station rebranded as Heart 1035. The studio eventually relocated to Jollibee Plaza in Pasig City's Ortigas Center from Paragon Plaza.
Recently, 103.5 underwent a format shift, adopting contemporary hit music (CHR) sound under the moniker 103.5 Max FM (one-oh-three-and-a-half Max FM). In 2009, they switched to playing Top 40/Dance music while still going under the moniker 103.5 Max FM.
Capturing the heart of the masses
Between August 23, 2010 through July 2013, the station went from a high-end format programming to a "pang-masa" format. The debut of 103.5 Wow FM marked Tiger 22 Media Corporation's entry into the mainstream, mass-based market. Before its cancellation on July 17, 2013, the format had been in use for over three years.
Road to becoming Metro Manila's Official Take Me Back Station
On July 22, 2013, 103.5 K-Lite hot adult contemporary format music was brought back with the relaunch of K-Lite FM.
On April 21, 2014, K-Lite 103.5 FM Metro Manila rebranded as a CHR format station, and the station's slogan was changed to The Beat of Manila. The songs span the decade of the 1990s to the current day.
However, it shares the same programming as its sister station 99.5 Play FM. On August 18, 2014, K-Lite 103.5 FM manila reverted to its original AC format and changed its identity to Metro Manila's Official Take Me Back Station, reflecting the station's decision to forego playing any new music in favor of playing classic favorites from the 1990s and early to mid-2000s.
An Onset in the Entertainment Business
Manny Villar, chairman of the Villar Group, has said that with the launch of K-lite 103.5 FM, AMBS is officially entering the entertainment industry.
The Chairman of the highly regarded Villar Group also said that the company has nothing but optimism looking forward to the future, particularly in light of the recent epidemic, and that it hopes to benefit its fellow Filipinos via this endeavor, in particular by creating new employment opportunities. He has also shown his excitement and appreciation for this new venture.
What to look forward to in K-Lite FM Segments?
K-Lite fans are in for delights and surprises as the station prepares to roll out live performances by some of OPM's greatest musicians, keeping true to its commitment to preserve the friendliest music feel on the radio. The Lily band, Ronnie Liang, Rachel G, and Silent Sanctuary are just a few of the special guests that will be appearing in the near future.
There are two resident DJs at K-lite, and they are DJ Jaybee Jariol and DJ Aly Esplana. Also, one of the original K-lite DJs, DJ Jaybee, returned in April of this year and is again ready to serve up her daily dosage of light favorites on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Meanwhile, DJ Aly, a relative newcomer to the radio scene and a verified streamer/gamer, will be the voice that carries listeners through the daily afternoon commute from 5 to 9 p.m.
With the introduction of thrilling promotions like the hunt for the next "K-lite Kampus Krew," K-Lite is returning with a whole new style of youth-inspired events. All interested college students who are eligible to participate in an internship program are encouraged to apply.
In addition, there is a competition called "DJ Kampus Hunt" for budding DJs and other voice actors who are in the ages of 18 to 25 years old. The official K-Lite Facebook, YouTube, and Twitch channels all have details on how to participate in this event.
At the same time, the station's Tiktok website has a "Do It, Duet Challenge," in which contestants submit a duet they've recorded to the station's student DJ hunt by stitching together DJ Jaybee's sample and their own original performance.
Along with tuning in to 103.5 FM to hear the OG funk of the '90s classics, the audience is also welcome to watch live broadcasts from the studio on Channel 3 of Planet Cable TV in some areas of Mega Manila and Region 4 Calabarzon.
