A Look Into Lipa City
23 April 2020Learn more about this progressive city and why you should consider making it your next home address! Lumina Homes is available in Lipa City, Batangas!
Lipa, a City in the Province of Batangas, was previously referred to as a coffee capital. Today, it is regarded as the Philippines' "Little Rome," with its multiple Catholic churches, convents, seminaries, Catholic schools, and retreat houses. It is just about a two-hour journey south of Manila.
Being recognized as one of the next wave cities in the country, Lipa City is continuously developing its major economic industries in medical, commercial, financial, agricultural, and even residential areas.
The climate in Lipa City is considered the 3rd coldest place in the Philippines, next to Baguio and Tagaytay. You can also see various churches in every corner of the city.
Top 5 Churches to Visit in Lipa City
1. San Sebastian Cathedral
Located in C.M. Recto Ave. G. Solis St. Lipa City, Batangas, there is a lengthy history of creation, demolition, and restoration of the San Sebastian Cathedral, also known as San Sebastian Cathedral or more simply called as Lipa Cathedral.
The Lipa Cathedral was built according to the Romanesque style. It has a large circular dome, massive walls and columns, balconies, and arches. The bell tower stands majestically in front of the church, ornamented with moldings like the dome. It's not only inside that's worth mentioning but also its garden-like passageway, Paseo de San Sebastian, that separates the Cathedral from the administration offices. This can be found by exiting via the right-hand entrance.
2. Our Lady of Mt. Carmel
This is located in Brgy. Antipolo del Sur Lipa City, Batangas. Flowers dropped from the sky on January 24, 1991, over Lipa's Carmel Monastery in Batangas province, and it was just one of the numerous spectacular showers of petals that took place on this site.
There's no better place in Batangas to find calm and serenity than the Monastery of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace or Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, which is simply known as "Carmel." The Lady requested that a statue of her be made in her likeness, and the chapel is available to anybody who wishes to visit it and revere the Lady. Carmel, unlike Lipa Cathedral, is tucked away from the city's bustling streets. It's also less busy than the Cathedral (or Katedral), making it ideal for people seeking quiet contemplation and peaceful prayer.
3. Divino Amor Chapel
This chapel, also known as the Divino Amor Chapel Redemptorist, is one of the holiest locations in Lipa and Batangas. The Redemptorist Missionaries, or Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, are in charge of running the facility, which was created on November 9, 1732, in Scala, Southern Italy, by St. Alphonsus de Liguori. In 1906, the Congregation arrived in the Philippines and established churches to help Filipinos grow in their faith and commitment. The Chapel is the end result of its modest beginnings and intentions. This chapel can be found in M.K. Lipa Street, Lipa City, Batangas.
4. Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Chapel
This is a chapel that is located in Fernando Air Base. Its feast day is November 27th of every year so make sure to visit it at that time.
5. Parish of Mary Mediatrix
It is located in Brgy. Antipolo del Norte Lipa City, Batangas, is one of the newly-built churches in Lipa, Batangas, and is pretty well-known for wedding venues.
Aside from this, Lipa City is also known as the Lomi Capital of the Philippines. Some Lomi restaurants that you must visit in Lipa are:
Liam's Lomi Haus
Initially, Liam's was a modest nipa hut-style restaurant, but as it gained more customers, it grew in size. Asado, Chicken, and lechon are just a few of the many options for topping their lomi. Other Filipino specialties, such as sisig, chopsuey, barbeque, goto, and the like, are available as well.
Located in Sabang, Gen. Luna St. Lipa City, Batangas. The restaurant is located just off of General Luna Street, making it a bit difficult to find. Watch out for the Limcoma building on your right while leaving Lipa City Hall, then turn left at the little side street that is almost opposite. A few sellers selling fresh veggies will tell you whether you're on the right street. Just before the car wash, Liam's Lomi Haus may be found.
Lomi King
It's safe to say that Lomi King is Lipa City's most popular noodle shop. Despite the fact that pancit lomi has always been their specialty, they also provide a broad range of noodles dishes. It is exactly what you'd expect from them. There is nothing quite like this dish's delicate noodles or thick sauce. Squid balls, carrots, and pork liver were all served in considerable amounts. You can choose whether you want to have chicken, liempo, or fish fillets as your toppings. It's unbelievably cheap as the average price of a meal here is just Php69, but the serving size is enormous!
Kim Eng, aka "Timing," and his wife Natalia are the proud owners of this business. This mother of all lomi houses can be found in Pres. J.P. Laurel Highway Lipa City, Batangas.
With all these great businesses and structures found in the City of Lipa, Lumina Homes noticed its potential and built a thriving and peaceful community through Lumina Lipa.
