Feb-ever in Love: Reymark and Jecell Love Story

They say that being in love is a crazy wonderful journey. So crazy that when you were able to find someone that you can call your other half is genuinely incredible. Just like the story of our Feb-ever in love Lumina Butuan homeowner couple Reymark and Jeycell— the soon-to-be Mr. and Mrs. Jamili!

Describe your love story in 3 words.

Reymark answered this question with a lifetime promise to Jecell as he said, “I’ll protect you,” to her.

He explained that this is what also makes their relationship unique from others.

“As a unique couple, sisiguraduhin mong protektahan ang partner mo kasi habang buhay na kayo nyan na magsasama—sa hirap at sa ginhawa. So, dapat, hindi lang isa ang napo-protekta. Siguro kayo rin dalawa.”

(As a unique couple, I must ensure to protect my partner because you know that you will be together forever—in hardship and comfort. So, being protective of your partner must not be just one-sided. Of course, it’s better if both of you protect each other.)

He also discussed how you can protect each other as a couple:

“Give and take lang yan. Maraming trials na darating kaya po-protektahan nyo ang bawat isa.”

(It’s a matter of give and take. A lot of trials will go along your way. That’s why you need to protect each other.)

What do you love most about your partner?

Reymark started teasing Jecell when he heard the question. You can really see the sweet affection of the couple to their significant other.

 “Nagustuhan ko sa kanya, magandang asal. She’s caring, loving wife, at higit sa lahat mapagbigay. May takot sa Diyos.” Reymark

(What I like about her is her good manners. She’s caring, loving, and most importantly, a selfless type of wife. She is also a very God-fearing person. )

Jecell in return, also mentioned the reasons why she likes Reymark, “Nagustuhan ko sa’yo, isa kang responsible partner.”

(What I like most about you is that you are a responsible partner.)

Most memorable moment as a couple

The couple became nostalgic as they reminisced their travels together.

Reymark shared that for him, it’s all about their travels as they love to ride the motorcycle together and go to different places.

“Siyempre yung mga gala namin. Bina-value ko talaga yun. Sabi nga nila, time is precious so you must value it.”

(Of course, it will be our travels. I really value all of them. As other people always say, time is precious, so you must value it.)

Jecell agreed to what Reymark said and even recounted how much she missed that moment when they traveled as a couple.

“Una sa lahat, pangarap namin magkaroon ng sarili naming bahay. Ang benepisyo sa amin, as a couple, yung privacy. Walang rules kasi sa iyo na yung buong bahay mismo.”

(First and foremost, we really dreamed of having our own house. The benefit of having our own space as a a couple is its privacy. There are no rules because you own the whole home.)

He also added, “Kung gigising ka nang maaga or tatanghaliin ka ba,walang magagalit sa’yo kasi sarili mong bahay.”

(Whether you wake early in the morning or late at noon, no one will get mad at you because it is your own house.)

Jecell, on the other hand, also pointed out that they don’t have to rent an apartment anymore. Reymark agreed saying,

“Ayun hindi mo na kailangan mag-rent. Kasi kapag nag-rent ka, additional expenses na iyon.”

(That’s right. You don’t have to pay for rent because if you do, it will just be an additional expense for both of you.)

They both agreed that having a space they can call their own is really an excellent advantage because it means more savings for them.

What advice can you give to young or married couples who are starting to build their own home and family?

Reymark and Jecell also leave a piece of advice to newly married couples who want to build their own home and family. Reymark said, “Para sa akin, yung advice ko, uunahin talaga yung planning. May plano talaga. Ikalawa, mag-ipon para kapag may plano kayo at may savings kayo, you can start iyung bigger future dream house.”

(For me, the advice I can give is for them to prioritize having a plan. They need to have a plan first. The second is for them to save as much as they can. Because if they already have a plan and some savings, they can now start to dream bigger for their future, like having their own house.)

He also reminded everyone that they must not forget to always pray and have great perseverance in order to achieve their dreams.
