The Augustinians founded the parish in 1733 and placed it under the protection of Saint Augustine of Hippo. The façade and interiors of Baliuag Church demonstrate the church's Baroque architectural style. A monumental piece of art, the reredos of the cathedral show the fusion of Spanish and Latin American architecture with indigenous Philippine art.
