1. Jaro Cathedral

Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Candles are the official names of Jaro Cathedral, the seat of the Roman Catholic Jaro Archdiocese. Saint Elizabeth of Hungary was named the patron saint of the Iloilo City district of Jaro on the island of Panay.

The Philippine Catholic Bishops' Conference officially designated the Cathedral as the National Shrine of Our Lady of Candles in February 2012. It was a significant moment in Philippine Catholic history. Second, only to Cebu's Basilica del Santo Niño in Visayas and Mindanao is the Cathedral as a place of national pilgrimage. Aside from being a "National Shrine," it is also the only Marian-dedicated church or Cathedral in the Visayas and the Mindanao region.

The statue of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria, set atop the Cathedral's front, is the Philippines' and Asia's first canonically crowned Marian image. In addition, the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria has been crowned as the official Roman Catholic patron saint of Western Visayas and Romblon by the aforementioned canonical crowning.

Many worshippers consider the statue to be miraculous and often visit her shrine. The Jaro Fiesta, a celebration of the 400-year-old image, takes place every year on February 2.

2. The Molo Mansion

The Molo Home, formerly a derelict mansion that was believed to be beyond repair, is an example of architectural splendor that has endured the test of time. The Molo district plaza and the Molo Church may be seen from home, initially constructed in the 1920s.

Classic Philippine colonial architecture is evident in the Molo Mansion, including beautiful arches, soaring ceilings, and ornate artistic carvings.

There are currently several shops in the mansion that solely sell products made by Ilonggos, and they are available to the public as a tourist attraction. On the main level, you'll discover the Kultura shop, which has a wide variety of Filipino-inspired clothing and gifts.

3. Camiña Balay Nga Bato
