Christmas Caroling at Lumina Bauan

Lumina Homes visited some homeowners in Lumina Bauan whose loved ones are Overseas Filipino Workers. Watch the team as they did a Christmas caroling with a twist!

First, let's visit the house of one of our OFW homeowners, Mrs. Gerlie Dinglasan, wife of Mr. Normando Dinglasan, an OFW in Panama, South America.

Sending Love to Panama

Lumina Bauan staff visited Mr. and Mrs. Dinglasan's home by having a Christmas carol and singing We Wish you a Merry Christmas.

According to Mrs. Dinglasan, they have been living in their brand new house and lot from Lumina Bauan for almost a year now, as they moved here last December 18, 2019.

She also shared that his husband has been working as an OFW for six years now.

“Sa bansang Samba po at Panama, South America. Halos maga-anim na taon na po siya dun. Ang trabaho nya po is foreman structural repair.”

(My husband is working in Samba and Panama in South America. He has been working there for almost six years as a structural repair foreman.)

She also mentioned why they chose Lumina Homes as the new community of their family.

“Napili namin ang Lumina Homes kasi malapit din po siya sa aming kinagisnang baryo. At saka ang Lumina Homes po ay kaya ng masa. At ang gawa po talaga nila is kalidad po.”

(We decided to choose Lumina Homes because of its proximity to our hometown. It is also really affordable. Aside from the reason that all their houses are built with quality materials.)

When asked about her wish and plans, her answer is pretty simple this coming Christmas.

“Maging masaya at sama-sama ngayong Pasko.”

(My wish is for us to be together and have a merry celebration this Christmas.)

“Ang plano po namin i-celebrate ang kapanganakan ng ating Panginoon at magsimba at magsalo-salo. Lalo na po at pandemic, dito na lang po sa bahay magce-celebrate.”

(We plan to celebrate this Christmas by welcoming the birth of Jesus Christ and attending the mass. We also plan to have a gathering here in our home only since we still have the pandemic in our country.)

She also gave a Christmas message to Mr. Normando, who is still working abroad for the holidays.

“Ang mensahe ko po sa aking asawa para ngayong Pasko ay maging masaya lang siya at laging malakas ang katawan. At maging matatag sa lahat ng pagsubok na dadating. Kaya natin ‘to. Salamat po.”

(My message for my husband this Christmas season is to be always happy and healthy. May he always be strong and resilient to all the challenges that may come. Together, we can face it all. Thank you.)

After the interview, Lumina Bauan organized a group photo with Mrs. Dinglasan and handed her a surprise Christmas gift basket from Lumina Homes. 

From Bauan to Abu Dhabi with Love

Meanwhile, another group is conducting a caroling activity in the house of Mrs. Rosemarie Ilagan and Mr. Oswaldo Ilagan, parents of Kae Sandra Ilagan, an OFW in Abu Dhabi.

They shared that they've been part of the Lumina Bauan family for a month now, and this house and lot is like an early best Christmas gift for their family this year. They said that their daughter chose Lumina Bauan because of itss safe and quiet environment.

Mr. and Mrs. Ilagan also shared their wishes this coming Christmas season.

Mr. Ilagan said, “Sana magkasama-sama kaming pamilya. Magkaroon kami ng konting kasiyahang pamilya kaming magkasama-sama.”

(Mr. Ilagan said, I wish that our family will be complete and for us to have a little gathering and celebration together.)

On the other hand, Mrs. Ilagan wishes her daughter could come home for the holidays.

“Maging masaya at konti kaming magkasama-sama. At wish ko rin eh makauwi rito yung may-ari ng bahay na ito, iyung aking anak na si Kae dahil nga gustong-gusto na niyang matirahan itong bahay na kanyang pinagawa.”

(I also wish that we could celebrate Christmas together happily. I also wish that my daughter Kae, the owner of this house, could return home since she told me that she would like to experience living here in her newly renovated home.)

They also give Kae a message for this Christmas season.

“Merry Christmas na lang. Maraming salamat and God bless”, Mr. Ilagan said.

(I can only greet a Merry Christmas. Thank you, and God bless, Mr. Ilagan said.)

Mrs. Ilagan also hoped, “Matuloy ka na na umuwi ngayon kay Sandra para magsama-sama na rin tayo pati yung mga kapatid. Pati siyempre kami. Para Makita mo na din ang pinaghirapan mo dito sa Pilipinas.”

(Mrs. Ilagan also hoped I wish that you could return home with Sandra to also be reunited with your siblings and, of course, with us. I also hope that you can finally see the fruits of all your labor here in the Philippines.)

The staff of Lumina Bauan also handed in a surprise Christmas basket for Mr. and Mrs. Ilagan and had a group photo opportunity with them.
