The Search for ReINA ng Every Juan is one of Lumina Homes's many events as part of its 9th Year Celebration in August 2021 with a theme of "We are Unst9ppable". This contest was designed by Lumina Homes to provide their female real estate agents, who are aside from being their competent businesses partners, are also great mothers, with an opportunity to share and connect their lives with other mommies out there.

Lumina Homes came up with the ReINA ng Every Juan project to improve the overall well-being of its real estate agent moms. This will also serve as a women empowerment for the benefit of every Juan, to provide a constant reminder that mothers are not just queens in our homes but also the real estate business.

At the beginning of the event, Lumina Homes announced that they were seeking entrants for this competition wherein interested participants must post a picture on their Lumina's Facebook Page to join. The participants who had the most significant response from their uploaded image were informed that they had made the final round and were instructed to build a personal blog full of real-world insights that working mothers may take advantage of when working from home.

Arlen Geopoleo from Lumina Tanza and one of the ReINA ng Every Juan Finalist shares some practical tips and hacks on spending your time wisely even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spending time this pandemic

Arlen described how this pandemic changed her life as she gained more time with her kids and husband. She said that there is a significant improvement in terms of their quality time as a family because they have more opportunities to do family bonding in the comforts of their home.

“Ngayong pandemic, mas madami akong time na makipagbonding sa mga anak ko, sa kids ko. And then, nagkataon din na ngayon pandemic is nandito yung husband ko. So, complete kami lahat. Maganda yun as a family bonding for us.”

She also shared how the COVID-19 virus affects her as a real estate agent.

“Since pandemic, tumumal yung bentahan ng bahay. Sa real estate world natin, medyo tumamlay. Pero hindi yun yung naging way para mag-stop. Nagtuloy-tuloy pa din ako. Since pandemic, pinagkakaabalahan ko yun pagpopost ng mga leads para makakuha ko ng mga prospect buyers para sa aking real estate business.”

(Ever since the pandemic started, the house sales rate also slowed down. This became a bit of a challenge in the real estate world. But this doesn't give me the reason to give up. I continue my business. When the pandemic began, I started to get myself busy posting leads on social media to find some prospective buyers for my real estate business.)

She even found a silver lining amidst the challenges that COVID-19 brought us.

“Ngayon kahit na may pandemic, marami akong time with my family and then, tuloy-tuloy po ang pagbebenta ng bahay.”

(This pandemic gives me more time to spend with my family while continuing to do my work as a real estate agent.)

Tipid Tips this Pandemic

We only have limited movements these days due to the restrictions brought by the pandemic. That's why we need to save up some money nowadays.

“For me, bilang nanay, ang tipid tips lang na maibibigay ko sa inyo, ang mapapayo ko sa ating mga viewers, kailangan alam talaga natin kung anong needs ng family.”

(As a mother, the only tipid tips I can advise you is to completely discern the things that your family really need.)

“Since pandemic, kailangan iwas luho muna tayo sa ngayon. Kung anong importante yun lang muna para meron tayong savings. In case of emergency, meron tayong kukunin. Since pandemic, kailangan may pera talaga.”

(Since it is a time of the pandemic, we need to avoid what we want and focus more on the things we need to have some savings. It's essential to have savings these days to have the confidence in case of an emergency.)

Cooking Tips

Arlen is just a great mom and businesswoman but also a queen in the kitchen. She even shared some of her helpful tips in cooking the most delicious vegetable soup in the world, Sinigang na Baboy.

“Ang cooking tips ko lang naman sa mga nanay natin, pag nagpapakulo kayo ng karne sa mahinang apoy lang para mas mabilis syang lumambot. Kasi pag pinakuluan nyo kasi ito tapos masyadong napakalakas nung apoy, masyadong nang kukunat yung karne.”

(My cooking tip for moms like me is when you are boiling the meat, make sure to put it in a low fire only so that the meat will become tender much faster. If you will cook it in high heat, there's a tendency that the meat's texture will become stringy.)

At syempre, kailangan kumpleto ang ating mga rekado. Ang mga gulay natin kailangan fresh para mas masarap ang ating sinigang. At syempre, wag kakalimutan ang ating pampaasim para mas masarap talaga ang ating sinigang.

(And of course, the ingredients must be complete. The vegetables must be fresh to make our soup more delicious. Also, don't forget the souring agents in our sinigang to complete its taste.)

As a Homeowner in Lumina Tanza

Arlene also relates how satisfied she is as a homeowner in Lumina Tanza. They've been living here for four years now, and so far, all the things they need are accessible from the subdivision.

“Dito sa Tanza, four years na din po kaming nakatira at masassabi kong satisfied homeowner po talaga ako. Since lahat ng needs namin, ng family ko, di na namin kailangan lumayo since lahat is nandito na.”

“Accessible po yung place tapos merong mall sa area so yung mga anak ko hindi na namin kailangan pang lumayo. Tapos secure na secure po yung subdivision natin.”

(The place is pretty accessible since there is a nearby mall in the area, so my kids and I don't need to travel far. The subdivision is also quite secured, so it's safe to live here.)

“Isa lang naman ang ma-advice ko sa mga gusto nang mag-invest at kumuha na ng mga bahay at maging homeowner na tulad ko. Sa ngayon, habang pre-selling pa po ang mga units natin dito sa Lumina Tanza, ay mag-avail na po kayo habang mabababa pa po yung value ng property. At kailangan, habang bata ka pa ay makapag-invest ka na.”

(One of the essential pieces of advice I can give to people who want to start investing on their own house and become a homeowner like me is to already avail the pre-selling units from Lumina Tanza as their property value is still lower than their actual price. And also, it's better to start your home investment young and as early as now.)

“Isa lang naman ang pinakaimportant na tip sa paghahanap ng bahay or pagi-invest ng isang house and lot. Kagaya dito sa Lumina Tanza, kailangan ang isang lugar ay convenient at very accessible.”
