DepEd releases SY 2022-2023 Calendar Of Activities: Plan Family Vacations Around School Holidays

Vacation is essential for the development of everyone-- even for the students. This is simply because we are all humans that we all need a vacation from time to time to recharge our batteries and get back into the swing of things with a renewed sense of purpose.

This is the reason why we, as parents, need to be informed of aware of these important dates to plan ahead our family's next out-of-town escapade, especially now that the face-to-face classes will be soon be back in schools.

Good thing, the Department of Education has recently released the school calendar of activities 2022 to 2023 to guide us what to expect this school year.

School's proposed school calendar of activities 2022 to 2023 for both public and private schools

The instructions for the school calendar and activities for the school year 2022-2023 have been announced by DepED or the Department of Education in compliance with its promise to resuming 5 days of classes in person.

DepEd Order No. 034, series of 2022, was signed by Vice President and Secretary Sara Z. Duterte on Monday and sets the commencement of courses on August 22 and the conclusion on July 7, 2023. As of now, there are 203 school days, or as may be decided by additional announcements in case the school calendar is altered due to unexpected events.

DepEd also gives instruction and assistance in the issuing for the reopening of classrooms and the gradual implementation of five days of in-person learning.

Uniforms not mandatory for students in the SY 2022-2023 academic year

Sara Z. Duterte, vice president and education secretary, said that students would no longer be forced to wear school uniforms in the school year (SY) 2022-2023.

She went on to add that even before the pandemic started, the Department of Education Order No. 065, Series of 2010 did not compel that children in public schools wear uniforms, all the more that it would not be necessary this school year owing to rising costs and economic losses caused by the pandemic.

Duterte further explained that this would assist prevent incurring unnecessary expenditures on the families of the students.
