An overview
Let's take a look at everything Windows 11 has to offer now that it has been launched, from its improved features to the advantages it offers for consumers over Windows 10.
According to Microsoft, users will be informed when the windows update is ready for them when it begins rolling out to eligible devices in the coming months. On the other hand, you can get a hold of and install Windows 11 right now if you want by visiting the official Microsoft download website for Windows.
It's also been verified by several PC and laptop manufacturers that many of their new devices will come pre-loaded with Windows 11. Included in this are Microsoft's brand new Surface Pro 8 and Surface Go 3 laptops, as well as the Surface Laptop Studio.
Furthermore, what’s really interesting is, like with Apple's macOS, there will be an annual upgrade for Windows 11 as well.
Windows 11 New Features
Like any new operating system, Windows 11 also offers some new features that computer geeks are really looking forward to. Let’s take a look at some of them.
Microsoft promises that Windows 11 updates would be 40 percent smaller and advertises Windows 11 as "the most secure version ever" from its latest products. The dock, formerly known as the taskbar, has also been redesigned for usage with both touch and mouse devices. Meanwhile, Snap Layouts, a new multitasking tool that you will surely find useful in Windows 11, allows you to arrange several windows across the screen in columns, sections, and more, rather than simply side by side.
PC Health Check App
A new health check tool has emerged in the newest Windows 11 Insider version, and it may provide you advice on how to best maintain your PC by offering a range of alternatives.
You may wonder why your battery drains quicker than normal or why your storage device is operating slower than usual on certain occasions. If you find yourself having trouble figuring out what's wrong, instead of wasting time experimenting to find a solution, you can simply utilize this built-in Microsoft health check tool in Windows 11 and let it help you fix the problem.
As a result of this health check, you'll get a number of suggestions that are both obvious and actionable. The health check tool in Settings has also been much enhanced, and Windows 11 will recommend things like turning down the brightness or changing the battery's power-saving mode, among other things.
New Microsoft Store App
Finally, the Microsoft Store is getting a facelift in Windows 11, with better-curated content and new ways to manage your bought programs, including mirroring them on your television.
It's no longer only Win32 applications that may be downloaded from Microsoft Store since the shop is now open to everyone. Everything from online applications to UWP and React Native will be accessible once Windows 11 is released later this year. With the revamp of the Windows Store, new apps like Zoom, Canva, TikTok and OBS Studio are now accessible for download via the app shop or the web via the 'pop-up' store, which you can use even if you're not using a Windows 11 device.
Windows 11's new app store also comes preloaded with popular Windows 10 apps including Disney+, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Pinterest!
Android Apps
You can now download TikTok and other Android applications, all ready to use on your PC or tablet, from the Microsoft Store or the Amazon App Store for Windows 11!
Again, instead of using Google Play, the applications will be supported by the Amazon App Store and detectable via the redesigned Microsoft Store. This will enable you to install your preferred apps locally and incorporate them into the start menu or taskbar.
However, due to Amazon's limited selection of Android applications that only range around 460,000 compared to Google's amazing 3.04 million, you may not have access to everything you want. But still, this is a cool improvement from Windows 10.
But before you go completely gaga on these awesome and sleek improvements in Windows 11, let’s have a check first if your PC or laptop is eligible for this upgrade.
